Hey guys and girls! How are you?! I hope this Monday has been a lovely one for you! Monday has been great for me, and I was working on set earlier! That's always a good day!
What's the only thing that beats being on set? Being on the beach!
This past Sunday, my friends and I visited both Malibu and Venice Beach on the same day. Both of these beaches here in SoCal are incredibly beautiful, and I absolutely love both of them. Hence, I thought I'd share a little bit of my experience with all of you!
Overall, it was another amazing, blessed day here in California with some of my best friends. Several of my followers on social media refer to Lucas, Matt, Kate and I as "THE SQUAD" - (Chrystal, we love this nickname!) ;)
I did not bring my surfboard this time, though surfing is something that I'm aiming to get back into! Surf-culture is something that I fit into quite nicely. (I wear board shorts practically every single day. Gotta live comfortably!) :D
Back when I was in college in Orange County, at Concordia University, my roommate Mike and I literally surfed every single day. We breathed the ocean and water, often times ditching class to hit the waves. Talk about living the dream, right?! Haha. I miss those days sometimes. (I DID get my degree, however!)
Though I do miss college days, I do my best to focus on the moment, always. And Hollywood is such an incredible place! I have loved every minute of it. I've made so many incredible friends here. Besides, Hollywood (geographically speaking anyway) is not too far from the ocean and beach life, fortunately!
Anyway, back to my post about VENICE & MALIBU. They're both amazing and equally stunning. The water was incredibly warm this weekend. And if I were to have to choose between which beach you should visit the next time you're in California, I wouldn't be able to make up my mind. It's a tie. The only thing that I can say was drastically different between Venice Beach and Malibu on this date were the crowds. Venice was packed! Oh, and there were less rocks at Venice Beach.
In terms of surfing, Malibu is typically the go-to beach, although there were certainly some waves yesterday in Venice, too. The 4 of us body-surfed for a super long time. So much fun.
- See, both beaches are awesome! -
You know what's crazy? Somehow I did not take any photos on this beach-day. I suppose I was living in the moment! That's a good thing, though. GOTTA LIVE IT UP! :D
Thanks for reading this post, friends. I'm off for a run now, and then I'll be back here in my lil apartment writing articles for acting.about.com! If you have a min, please check them out!
And - guys & girls - if you've never been out here to CA, come visit us, and let's hang. You'll likely catch me here in Hollywood or a few miles west on the sand. Remember, if you see me, there's a 99.9 % chance that I'll have board shorts on. Please say hello! :D
Stay happy :)
